Our top story: more than fifty unauthorized immigrants are picked up in raids by federal agents in the Boston area. According to the Boston Herald, officials say the raids over the past two days targeted people trafficking drugs, including fentanyl, heroin, and cocaine.

The incoming district attorney for Suffolk County, Rachel Rollins, has announced her transition team. According to the Herald, the co-chairs are two former prosecutors, Martin Murphy and Natashia Tidwell.

The new contract between the Marriott chain and Boston hotel workers is being hailed as a trailblazer for the industry. According to the Boston Globe, the contract provides a pay increase of twenty percent over four and-a-half years, along with higher pension contributions.

A member of the Boston School Committee is leaving her position after four years. According to the Globe, Miren Uriarte says she wants to spend more time with her family. A retired professor and researcher at UMass Boston, Uriarte was an expert on the needs of English language learners
