We begin tonight with a push to reduce fares on the M-B-T-A for people of low income. According to the Boston Globe, the idea has support from advocates, state and city officials. Supporters say a the discounts could be modeled on the current system for young riders. A new state law for equal pay has led to the first lawsuit--against the Boston Symphony Orchestra. The principal flutist, Elizabeth Rowe, says last year was paid seventy thousand dollars less than a fellow wind player. The city council has approved its own measure for regulating lobbyists. Mayor Walsh tried to have that done through a home rule petition--that would have also required approval at the State House.
